This stripy tiger cake recipe is amazing and so easy to do! For maximum impact with minimum effort, have a go at this cake, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 100ml milk
  • 250 ml sunflower oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 475g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 25g cocoa powder

Method:

  1. Out the oven on gas mark 4. Grease a 9in cake tin.
  2. Mix the eggs, sugar, milk, olive oil, vanilla extract and 175g of the flour until smooth.
  3. Split the mix in 2, adding the cocoa powder to 1 half of the mix. Split the flour into 175g (for the half without the cocoa) and 125g (for the half with the cocoa). Add the flour and mix until smooth.
  4. Either using a spoon or piping bags, put a dot of plain mix in the middle of the cake tin, and then put a dot of chocolate mix in the middle of that. As you repeat this procedure, the cake mix will spread and create layers of plain and chocolate mix.
  5. Bake for 40-50 mins in the middle of the oven, until firm. Allow it to cool, and serve. The cake should have a stripy centre when you cut into it.
