Serves 4

Bacon and runnerbean pasta will be a family favourite, especially with Mum when she realises how easy it is to cook! Ideal as a mid-week treat. Using really simple ingredients, this bacon and runner bean pasta is really easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • 8 slices thick cut bacon (smoked or unsmoked) cut into strips
  • 225g runner beans
  • 1 tbsp English mustard
  • 150ml crème fraiche
  • 350g spaghetti

Method:

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions in salted water. Add the runner beans for the last 5 mins, so that they cook through.
  2. Whilst the pasta cooks, heat 1tbsp olive oil in a frying pan and fry the bacon until starting to brown.
  3. Stir in the mustard and crème fraiche. Turn down the heat and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta and runner beans, keeping back a few tablespoons of pasta water. Toss the pasta in the sauce, adding the pasta water to loosen.
  5. Enjoy your bacon and runner bean pasta!
