Serve up this takeaway favourite without having even to pick up the phone! This easy sweet and sour chicken recipe is sure to please the whole family when you’re craving a takeaway.
You’ll be surprised at how quick and easy it is to serve up takeaway favourites like sweet and sour chicken at home!
Ingredients:
- Olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic clove
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 4tbsp tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp runny honey
- ½ pineapple, chopped (or a tin of pineapple chunks in natural juices, cut into bite size chunks)
- 2 tbsp chopped almonds
- Basmati rice, cooked (to serve)
Method:
- Heat a splash of oil in a frying pan and fry the onion and the garlic until soft.
- Add the chicken strips and fry for another 4 minutes.
- Add the ketchup, honey, pineapple and almonds and cook for another 3-4 minutes
- Serve your sweet and sour chicken alongside the basmati rice.
