1. Peel and chop vegetables

Save yourself lots of time on Christmas Day morning, by peeling and chopping all the veg the day before. Potatoes, parsnips and carrots – they’re all fine to prepare in advance then store in cold water in the fridge overnight

 

2. Set the table

Another basic but effective time-saver: setting the table last thing before bed will buy you an extra 20 minutes you can spend enjoying with your family and guests on Christmas morning.

 

3. Put out a drink and something to eat for Santa and Rudolph

 Put out a nice warming whiskey and a mince pie for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph.  They’ll appreciate that when they come to deliver the presents during the night.

 

 4. Pour yourself a glass of wine and relax

Pour yourself a glass of well-earned wine and relax, knowing everything is prepared and ready for the big day!
