Three weeks before Christmas
Christmas is getting closer! With just three weeks to go, it’s time to post your cards, get the tree and decorations up and finalise the menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
1. Post your cards
Get your Christmas cards in the post now to make sure that they arrive on time – particularly international deliveries. Check here for Royal Mail’s recommended posting dates: http://www.royalmail.com/greetings
Christmas trees are out in the shops. Get yours now before the best ones go. Whether you have a real tree or an artificial one, decorating the tree is a perfect weekend activity for all the family.
3. Decorate the house
Once you’ve decorated the tree, put on your favourite festive tunes and unleash your creativity with a liberal application of tinsel, fairy lights, glittery garlands and wreathes around the home. If you’re feeling crafty, try our homemade Christmas decoration ideas.
4. Finalise your Christmas menus
It’s time to decide what to serve up over Christmas itself. Have a browse through all our delicious recipes and get a list together of ingredients. 5. Order the meat
It’s amazing how often the main event is left to the last minute. But whether you’re going for turkey, goose, beef, ham, or all of the above, you can avoid a stampede in the aisles on the 24th by placing your order at your local butchers or supermarket. You can also keep your eyes peeled for special offers in your local supermarket to save you money.
