1. Candy-cane pillow

Nothing’s more fun than cosying up during winter. For that extra level of warmth, try making a candy-cane pillow.
Sew red and white material to make the stripe design. Then, use stuffing to fill up your pillow sack. You can decorate it with bells and pompoms or keep it plain for a smoother look.
2. Paper poinsettias wreath
Poinsettias are an iconic flower synonymous with Christmas. They’re beautifully bright despite being a winter plant. Why not create a paper poinsettias wreath for your front door?
These poinsettias are made from crepe paper, in an ombré of pinks and reds. Once you’ve practised them, use a hot glue gun to stick your flowers to the wreath.
3. Drinks carton Christmas village
Milk, juice, passata - we’ve all got paper cartons adding to our recycling. Give them a new life by turning them into a drinks carton Christmas village.
This Christmas craft provides endless hours of fun, creativity, and entertainment. You can even start a tradition of adding to your village every year.
4. Copper Christmas trees
These copper Christmas trees decorations look so pretty on your dinner table. Grab some flat copper wire, metal-cutting scissors, and a cardboard cone (preferably a sturdy one).
Wrap the wire around the base of the cone, ascending and then descending, to make a pine-tree shape. Then, cut the ends off once and reshape the curves to your preference.
5. Pinecone owl ornaments

Make your own flock of pinecone owl ornaments to nest in your Christmas tree this year.
All you need is felt, glue, and a handful of pine-cones to make the main owl body. Don’t forget to add bright, orange eyes for that classic look.
6. Countdown-to-Christmas’ clock
Sick of being asked, ‘How long until Christmas?’ Save time by making your very own ‘Countdown-to-Christmas’ clock.
Get the kids to decorate their own clocks, each step leading to the big day. It’s guaranteed to get them clock-watching until the big day.
7. Eight-pointed star napkin
Using napkins is a great way to reduce the use of tissue paper. They come in all shapes and colours; so you’ll easily find ones that match your decor.
Once you’ve picked your favs, don’t just fold them into boring squares. Do some napkin-origami and try out this eight-pointed star design.
8. Tea-tree snowman lights
We’ve all got tea-tree lights jotted around the house. Try upcycling them into tea-tree snowman lights.
Use the lightbulb as the nose and draw your snowman design. Add a felt hat, tinsel scarf, or whatever you want to make your snowman come to life.
9. Gingerbread napkin ring

Once you’ve chosen your napkins, how will you hold your design in place? Using a gingerbread napkin ring, of course!
Make a batch of gingerbread biscuits and cut a whole out in the middle. Thread a ribbon through to tie your napkin design. Super pretty and delicious!
10. Wooden stockings
If you’re handy at DIY, these wooden stockings may be the perfect craft for you. Get yourself a piece of wood and sketch out your stockings design.
Cut them out and decorate as you please. You can carve out patterns or paint them using stains for a classic look.
11. Winter snow-globes
Winter snow-globes are a must-try crafts idea for Christmas. All you need are mason jars, water, and lots of decorative things to make your snowy scenes.
Add things like pinecones, twigs, and dried fruits for a more wintery scene. What a great use to save jars from the recycling bin!
12. Pom-pom winter animals
Penguins, polar bears, robins - these are all super cute animals who just shout ‘Christmas’! Make these wonderful winter cuties out of pom-poms.
Grab yourself pom-poms in assorted colours and sizes; and decorate them with googly eyes and glitter felt. You’ll soon have a whole family of winter pom-pom animals.
13. Embellished Christmas tree card

Who even buys Christmas cards anymore? There’s nothing sweeter than receiving a home-made card from a loved one. Try making an embellished Christmas tree card.
Draw an outline of a Christmas tree and decorate the space inside with embellishments. You can use glitter, stickers, and stick-on jewels. Fill up the entire space to get the full glam effect.
14. Christmas magnet friends
There’s something about magnets that kids find ‘attractive’(!) Why not set up the perfect craft for them by making Christmas magnet friends?

15. Nativity scene
Making your own nativity scene is a great way to demonstrate the real reason behind celebrating Christmas.

16. Yarn-wrapped ornament

This Christmas craft is perfect for young kids - keeping them happy for hours. Make yarn-wrapped ornaments using cardboard or paper-mâché as the base.
Then, wrap them up with bobbins of yarn. Go neutral to match your palette colours or let them go crazy with the craft box!
17. Snowman hot chocolate bombs
This one’s a crowd-please: make your own snowman hot chocolate bombs to go with this iconic winter treat.

18. Ombré ribbons
We’ve all got spare fabric material lying round the house. Why not recycle them into ombré ribbons? It’s a great way to spruce up your Christmas wrapping and it’s eco-friendly, too.
Cut your fabric into strips long enough to tie around presents. Dip them in dyes, one end longer than the other to create the gradient. You can even dip both sides into different colours for a more funky look.
19. Homemade holiday potpourri
Our nasal senses can easily become overwhelmed at Christmas. Get the house smelling fresh with a little homemade holiday potpourri.
You can choose festive smells; like pine, cranberries, oranges, and cinnamon. Or whatever smells you prefer - the options are endless!
